What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, mobile device, or tablet when you visit websites. They are widely used by website operators to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information and remember your specific settings or preferences.
How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to enhance and secure your wagering experience. Specifically, we utilise cookies to facilitate basic site functionality, manage active user sessions, retain user preferences, perform web analytics, deploy compliant advertising, and support regulatory responsible gambling features. This includes keeping track of your Bet Slip choices, remembering your saved odds and display settings, and respecting BetStop self-exclusion markers.
Categories of Cookies
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are absolutely essential for our site to operate and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms.
Examples: secure session cookies, CSRF tokens, and your cookie consent preference cookie.
3.2 Analytics Cookies
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymised. Consent is strictly required before activation.
Examples: Google Analytics tracker cookies.
3.3 Advertising Cookies
These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They work by uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. Consent is strictly required before activation.
Examples: ad measurement and campaign personalisation cookies.
3.4 Functional Cookies
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all of these services may not function properly. Consent is strictly required before activation.
Examples: live chat support, custom region/odds format preferences.
Consent and Google Consent Mode
When you visit Betfans.co for the first time, you will be presented with a Cookie Consent banner. In compliance with modern tracking standards, we support Google Consent Mode. This means analytics and advertising cookies remain strictly denied and inactive until you explicitly grant consent. If consent is withheld, basic signals are sent to Google platforms without identifying details, keeping your session private.
Managing or Withdrawing Consent
You can change or completely withdraw your cookie preferences at any time. You can choose to Accept All, Reject All, or customise individual options using the Manage Cookie Preferences option located in the website footer. Alternatively, you can manage, block, or delete cookies via your browser's native privacy settings.
Third-Party Cookies
In some instances, cookies on our platform are set by trusted third parties. These providers deliver essential analytical insights and advertising measurements. Third-party cookie operators are governed by their own respective privacy policies, and Betfans.co implements rigorous data-sharing boundaries to protect your information.
Cookies and Data Retention
If you have any questions regarding our Cookie Policy, please contact our support team via the Contact Us page, or by post to Betfans Pty Ltd, Level 33, 385 Bourke Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000.
Updates to This Cookie Policy
We respect your right to exclusion. If you have registered with BetStop (Australia's National Self-Exclusion Register), our systems integrate this status across our marketing and advertising technologies. We ensure that advertising cookies and tracking pixels are suppressed for self-excluded users to prevent promotional delivery.
Related Information
Our collection and processing of any personal information derived via cookies is governed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
